Child support is essential to the month-to-month existence of many families. This is one of the courts' most important obligations and very significant use of their jurisdiction. Due to the importance of child support payments to many families, certain states may extend their jurisdiction to non-residents in order to collect child support payments.

Single parents or any other family that receives child support have a legitimate need, and the courts should be permitted to enforce their decisions. Some states have jurisdiction over non-residents and non-residents due to proceedings or orders taken against them in that state.

Providing financial assistance to children is one of these measures. Parents intending to evade their responsibilities cannot simply leave the state and disappear. Regarding who and how they may seek the collection of assistance from non-residents, states have enacted restrictions.

A non-resident may nonetheless be served with a support collection action if they are physically present in the state. Therefore, if a parent establishes residency in another state but returns to the state where they owe child support, they might be served with an action to collect the arrears.

Also, if a non-resident once lived with the kid whose support they are obligated to pay, that state may serve them with legal documents. Lastly, if a kid was conceived in a state where a person is not a resident, that state may nevertheless have jurisdiction over child support payments.
