Pugh is the No. top-rated player from the rankings for the draft from SB Nation's Dan Kadar and Madden 23 coins the sixth-rated offensive tackle.

Pugh aged 22 was a three-time starter at the left side of Syracuse and was awarded All-Conference honors during each of the seasons. After missing his entirety of his freshman campaign, Pugh did have a full season in his remaining eligibility, but decided to take part in for the 2013 Madden NFL 23 Draft having an education already completed.

With several positions in question at the offensive end, Pugh looks to have a strong chance of starting in his debut season. David Diehl needs to be upgraded at right tackle, however Pugh is an agile lineman and is able to move around on the five front players.

In a scouting report on Gang Green Nation, the following were identified as positives for Pugh:

Exceptional pass protector who has outstanding balance and ability to mirror pass rushers to keep them out of the backfield. With excellent hands, he sets and then re-sets in the event of being the ball is thrown around, and he sank his hips for counter-power moves, and never gets beaten by the lines. His pass protecting is among the top in the nation. Good power in line blocking and can be effective in open spaces, has excellent balance and a quick surge to get defenders to back off, strong lateral skill to keep off the edge. The ability to move to the next stage and can play to the whistle. He has good blitz recognition and his coaches have commented on the way his ability to grasp the blocking techniques quickly. He is able to finish his blocks and displays an ability to endure and is a strong player that will make him an excellent prospect at either the left or at the right position.

Although he was an extremely excellent left tackle at Syracuse the team, his short arms and less-than-stellar performance at the 2013 Senior Bowl have led many to expect Pugh to play inside and play guard. Another issue was a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the first 4 games in the season. If both of those check out, Pugh has plenty of potential and could be as good as any offensive tackle in that draft class.
