The Land Rover Defender 130 joins the already formidable Defender 90 and Defender 110 in Land Rover's family of all-terrain vehicles, providing room for up to eight people across three rows of full-size seating for adventurous road trips.

The new Land Rover Defender 130 takes its name from the old Defender series, like the 90 and 110 before it. The designation comes from the longest model in the lineup. It's the pinnacle of the Defender's versatility, demonstrating how easily it can carry eight passengers across any surface.

The new Land Rover Defender 130 stands out from the crowd thanks to a slew of design upgrades and technology, striking a perfect balance between the usual Defender's comfort and durability.

Land Rover has presented the Queen and the British Red Cross with a specially built new Land Rover Defender 130 in honor of the Platinum Jubilee. Engineers from Land Rover will collaborate with charity representatives to customize the Defender 130 before it enters service. The Queen is a patron of the organization.

Since 1954, Land Rover has been a proud supporter of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the largest humanitarian organization in the world. Defender underwent a global testing regimen that included experts from the International Federation of Red Cross's global fleet base in Dubai before its 2019 debut.

The New Defender 130 brings a new dimension of capability to our most durable and rugged family of vehicles," said Nick Collins, Land Rover's Executive Director, Vehicle Programs. The Land Rover Defender 130 has its own color palette, with a new, exclusive Sedona Red option to ensure it stands out from the lineup. Its spacious interior welcomes and transports up to eight people in supreme comfort, enabling unparalleled sophisticated adventuring opportunities for families. In addition to the standard Bright Pack, an Extended Bright Pack gives the vehicle a unique exterior style by applying a Ceres Silver Satin finish to the lower body cladding and Noble Chrome skid plates in the front and back.

The cabin has convenient compartments and storage spaces for all three rows of seats. The Land Rover Defender 130 comforts all passengers thanks to its roomy, three-across third row and high ceilings.

The inside has been reimagined with fresh colors and material choices to enhance the multi-surface adventure. A new, larger 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen, standard electronic air suspension, and cabin air purification plus are just a few examples of cutting-edge linked technology and chassis systems that give unrivaled support and comfort for today's off-road adventures.

Without sacrificing any of the Defender's legendary off-road prowess, the vehicle's classic profile has been expanded by 340 millimeters in the back to increase passenger volume in all three rows.

The Land Rover Defender 130, clearly a relative, has an enlarged rear overhang that increases capacity for the third row of seats and the cargo area.

All Land Rover Defender 130s come standard with a panoramic sunroof and are available with a second sunroof above the third row. The all-new Sedona Red exterior color option enhances the sleek profile by adding depth and sophistication.

To keep the Defender's signature rear-end look, engineers at Land Rover have designed a slight boat-tail-style elevation that also increases the 28.5-degree departure angle and exceptional all-terrain performance that the Defender is known for. The three lines that define the Defender's side profile have been preserved in the redesigned casings for the rear LED lighting units, which rise gradually toward the back.

The large cargo space is still accessible, and a hard-shell cover for the spare wheel is offered in the same color as the vehicle. This elevates the Defender 130 to the top of the Defender lineup. Standard equipment includes Narvik Black roof rails, while additional options include Defender's Explorer, Adventure, Country, and Urban packs.

The 130's optional Extended Bright Pack further refines the car's already elegant proportions. All lower body panels in this version are finished in Ceres Silver Satin, making vehicles in Hakuba Silver, Fuji White, and Yulong White stand out. All Defender 130 versions include Ceres Silver accents on the bonnet louvres and side fenders, which pair beautifully with the Bright Silver 20-inch Luna alloy wheels.

The exterior upgrade is an expansion of the Bright Pack, and it consists of Noble Chrome front and rear skid plates, Gloss Black lower bumpers, and Gloss Black wheel arch extensions. Customers can choose from two distinct and elegant exterior paint jobs for their Defender 130.

The global positioning platform has been integrated into the new Land Rover Defender 130, allowing for pinpoint navigation in the most inaccessible settings. The British technology firm what3words has created an easy-to-remember three-word address for each of the world's 57 trillion 3m x 3m squares.

Input what3words addresses directly into the navigation bar on the Pivi Pro Infotainment or through the linked car app; the integrated technology works in tandem with the preexisting connected navigation and mapping software.

Customers can select the ideal spot for off-road exploration, pinpoint an individual parking space, or identify a certain entry and be guided there quickly and easily with just three phrases.

The new Defender 130 is the first to have Cabin Air Purification Plus, which improves the air quality in the cabin on every trip. The largest Defender in the lineup comes standard with this system, which combines nanoeTM X technology for allergen reduction and pathogen removal to cut down on smells and viruses drastically. Additionally, PM2.5 cabin air filtering and CO2 management enhance the cabin atmosphere by continuously monitoring and modifying the air quality for the comfort of passengers.

The Land Rover P300 and P400 mild-hybrid Ingenium six-cylinder petrol engines and the Land Rover D250 and D300 Ingenium six-cylinder diesel engines are available in the Land Rover Defender 130, giving customers a potent and efficient range of engine options; a similar tech is found in the Land Rover Defender P400e plug-in hybrid.

Land Rover's aluminum-intensive monocoque D7x construction is the bedrock of the Defender's formidable all-terrain prowess. The Defender's skeleton is the foundation for its independent air suspension, twin-speed transfer box, and intelligent all-wheel drive system, and its torsional rigidity of 25 kNm per degree makes it three times as rigid as conventional body-on-frame designs.

The Land Rover Defender 130 can tow up to 3,000 kg, and the Electronic Air Suspension makes hitching a breeze with a control panel located in the trunk. Towing is a breeze with the variety of available removable and adjustable towbar options.
