World of Warcraft has had a character cloning service for a while now, and with new releases, Wrath of the Lich King Classic recently launched, it's time to retire the current version. If you want to copy your character to Burning Crusade Classic or World of Warcraft Classic, Blizzard is selling the service.

This service exists to replicate one of your Warcraft Classic characters to some point before The Burning Crusade Classic launches, either in the BCC realm or in the World of Warcraft Classic realm. If you don't have clones to keep your characters active in those realms, the locked clones will be removed from the realms and will no longer be available after the July service decommissioning.

If you log into World of Warcraft Classic or Burning Crusade Classic but do not choose to move characters, those characters will be found in Burning Crusade Classic, but the Age of Classic version will be permanently deleted and you will not be able to clone it in the future. In fact, all of these servers will be going into new content, so players will have to decide if they want to keep any characters in the old realm.

With the new expansions and new classic eras upon us, it makes sense to refresh and give players the option to access previous content with applicable rules and restrictions if they so desire. This will allow you to have characters from the classic and/or The Burning Crusade classic as the server enters the Age of Wrath of the Lich King.

The service is now on sale for $5, up from $15 (the previous price was reduced from the original planned $35 until a community outcry caused them to scale back and will continue until July 26th.

Mograine or Earthshaker would probably be the ones we recommend since you have to keep in mind that currently High population servers will be taken over as soon as the WotLK release date is announced!
