Benefits of Umrah

Umrah offers endless benefits and blessing to the believers. The value of this Sunnah is very high in Islam because it is recommended by the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The benefits of Umrah include forgiveness of sins, purification of heart, and getting Allah’s blessings. To think about these advantages, many Muslims start to plan their sacred pilgrimage to Mecca with the help of an Umrah travel agency. This thing allows travelers to make their holy journey more enjoyable and memorable in a proper way.

The benefits of Umrah are as follow:

Being the Guest of Allah

As Allah’s Messenger (P.B.U.H) said: “The pilgrim of Hajj and Umrah are the guest of Allah. If they call upon Him, He answers them; and if they ask Him for forgiveness, He forgives them.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)

It would be a great chance to everyone to be the guest of Allah, leaving all work and matters behind. One of the most honors for a Muslim performing Umrah is the realization that they are a guest of Allah (S.W.T).

Removal of poverty and Sins

One of the most spiritual benefits of Umrah is the expiation of Sins and removal of poverty, as cleared mentioned in the teaching of Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). Umrah is a form of worship involve sacrifice of time, wealth, and physical efforts. This sacrifice becomes a means of forgiveness. It is in this sincere state that Allah forgives sins and show his mercy on pilgrim.

Equivalent to Jihad

Abu Hurairah narrated that

The Messenger of Allah said: "Jihad of the elderly, the young, the weak, and women, is Hajj and 'Umrah." (Sunan an-Nasa'i 2626)

This hadith show that for women, elders, and children those who cannot participate in war, performing Umrah allows them to earn the reward of doing Jihad. Just as jihad involves sacrifice, discipline, and struggles, so does performing Umrah and Hajj physically, financially, and spiritually. You could collect reward equal to jihad by performing Umrah.

Return Like a Newborn

A pilgrim who avoid bad actions during Umrah and maintain the conduct will be completely cleansed their all past sins, and start their like just a newborn baby. During the pilgrimage, pilgrims engage in intense worship such as performing Umrah, and praying Nawafils, which are acts for purifying one’s soul.

Whena person return from Umrah, he/she should try to maintain this purified state through continued good deeds, prayers, and remembrance of Allah.

Dua and Tawaf are accepted

The time spent in performing Umrah is an ideal opportunity to make Duas and collect blessings. You are very close to Allah during Umrah, asking for forgiveness, blessings, help in every matter and healing and all though Duas are accepted.

The places like Kaaba, Safa and Marwah, and Zamzam water are known as scared places where Duas are not rejected. Drinking Zamzam water while making Duas, that time pilgrim is totally connected with Allah and share their feelings with Allah.

Equal to Hajj

The Holy Prophet said:

“Perform `Umrah when Ramadan comes, for `Umrah in Ramadan is equal to Hajj (in reward)." (Sahih al-Bukhari 1782)

Every Muslim want to do Umrah. But doing Umrah in Ramadan is equal to Hajj. Pilgrims earn more blessing and more rewards in this holy month. If you have to chance to perform Umrah don’t miss it and perform.
