Whereas altering older in-game content was once unthinkable, that is no longer the case and Blizzard is now determined to make sure that the game's content matches what the development staff and players' expectations. The current team's commitment to taking control of what WoW is and will be in 2022 is a wonderful decision, even if some of the changes to content from the past might be uninspiring to veterans.

It's evident that Blizzard is seeking to create a new path for the MMO that has made the company a household name, one better informed by the evolving demands of players and their feedback than dictated by the outdated notions of how the game should play. How Blizzard can chart the new path with ease remains to be seen. Fans are still waiting for news about the game's next not yet announced expansion. They hope that the changes that Hazzikostas has declared "is a new perspective going forward" of the group after patch 9.1.5 could translate into fresh strategies and a fresh period of growth for the MMO.
