There are engravings to be found as you advance through Lost Ark Gold However, it's only at the end of the game which is after the level 50 point that they really come into play. This is when you can get items that can earn you significant engraving points. This includes the Lost Ark ability stones, which are collected from raids in the endgame and dungeons. They are generated by an assortment of two different combat engravings as well as one random negative, or "malus" engraving.
However, ability stones won't provide any engraving points until they are faceted. The process of faceting is a little complicated and is dependent on luck although you can maximise your chances of getting more engraving points if your are smart about it. Learn everything you need learn about faceting abilities stones from Lost Ark.
The faceting process is, in essence, taking a stone with a certain amount of inherent potential and attempting to create the best end result from it as possible by cutting it into smaller pieces and making it all shiny. But, since cutting away at objects with a chisel is a fine art, there's a chance for things to fail during the process and for bits to break off or cause undesirable results instead of good ones.
It's incredibly unlikely that everything will be perfect during the faceting process, therefore you may well get through the entire stock of stones and silver before you get lucky and have a successful outcome. For T3 content, companies generally seek out stones with a +7 value on each positive engraving and fewer than five points in the negative engraving. For T2 content +6 on every engraving is standard.
Lost Ark ability stones: many workers who carry and craft huge green stones in a in a smithy.
To facet an ability stone take it to any stone worker NPC. On the left, you will see an inventory of all stones that you have and can facet. The main panel shows the engravings of the selected stone, along with a list of diamonds that are empty beneath each engraving. These are potential engraving points that could be unlocked by the faceting process, but there is a great deal of luck involved, as each faceting attempt has a possibility of unlocking an engraving point or not succeed, which will grey out the slot, making it ineffective. The more rare stones contain more slot slots with no potential.
On the left side of every engraving, there is a chisel button to indicate the amount of silver charged for each attempt at faceting. Beyond that, there is chances of cracking percentage values that begin at 75%; every success you achieve, this percentage decreases, and it increases each time you fail.
Keep in mind that there are two positive and one negative engraving on each stone, therefore, we should aim to be successful in our efforts for faceting positive engravings and not be able in tackling the negative. Therefore, if you've got very little chance of succeeding when you facet your next one it is advisable at faceting the opposite engraving. In the same way, if you've got a high probability of succeeding it is recommended to facet one of your engravings that you are positive about. If there is one engraving you prefer more than the others then you might want to save your highest probability and the most secure roll for that particular engraving.
Ability stones may also come with bonus effects that may be added if you are able to make consecutive succeeding faceting efforts. When all the attempts are completed and each diamond has been filled or greyed out, you can then equip the ability stone. If you do end up with an error, you are able to de-enchant the stone and then exchange the stones by cutting them with the stonecutter for additional ability stones.
